Because of its role as a database query preparation program, ISIS/Draw supported a variety of special atom and bond types used for substructure searching, such as wildcard atoms, aromatic bonds, and ring bonds, as well as atom mapping, required for reaction searches. skc, and also supported standard chemical file formats such as MDL molfile, Rxnfile, and TGfile.
ISIS/Draw used its own proprietary file format, with the extension. The first version of the program was released in 1990, and the last version was 2.5 in 2002 it has since been superseded by Symyx Draw. It acted as a front end to ISIS/Base, a chemical database program from the same company, as well as some other ISIS (Integrated Scientific Information System) products. It was available free of charge for academic and personal use. Select 3D Rotate from the 3-D sub-menu of the Chem menu to change the rotate tool into a 3D rotate tool. The tool now behaves like the lasso, except that if you select anything then drag it, it will rotate around the central cross. The cross is the centre of rotation, and can be moved around by clicking and dragging. Selecting this tool makes a cross appear in the middle of the screen. Once some atoms are selected, they can be dragged around, deleted, etc. The Quick Reference section of the table of contents page is particularly helpful. The Table of Contents page (ToC) is a good place to begin. Help The program includes a comprehensive help system.This may beconfusing, at first, particularly as ISIS/Draw will also let youdraw bonds by clicking and dragging, as with ChemDraw. The main difference between ISIS/Draw and ChemDraw is that theformer draws most substructures with a single click.
